Angèle’s Garden
When I’m on the road, I’m not always camping and hiking. I’ve also been known to spend hours in various libraries around the state - uploading and processing images on my laptop. Sometimes I eat meals in restaurants. And, when the weather is cold or rainy, I usually stay at BnB’s - both on the coast and in the mountains.
My favorite BnB is located in Asheville and owned by a good friend’s Mom. Angèle spoils me with home cooked meals, mint tea from her garden, and good conversation. During a recent visit, on a rainy Tuesday morning, she coaxed me into photographing some of the plants in her garden.
Focusing on the patterns and textures of the leaves of so many well kept plants felt like a nice change of pace. With an experimental spirit, interesting compositions and the feelings associated with them can be discovered everywhere… in our own backyard or in the gardens of our dear friends.
